Update (12:57 p.m.):

The owner of the pistol left at the Pickle Research Center was found and was not affiliated with UT. The owner was attending a conference at the Commons Learning Center.

UTPD is now working with the Department of Public Safety and the Dean of Students to determine future administrative action, as well as possible charges against the owner, according to a UTPD Facebook post.
