The owner of the pistol left at the Pickle Research Center was found and was not affiliated with UT. The owner was attending a conference at the Commons Learning Center.
UTPD will report the incident to the Department of Public Safety and determine if charges can be filed, according to a tweet by UTPD.

UTPD reported the pistol found in McCombs was claimed by a student who has a concealed carry license.

UTPD is now working with the Department of Public Safety and the Dean of Students to determine future administrative action, as well as possible charges against the owner, according to a UTPD Facebook post.
Another unattended pistol left in the women’s bathroom at the Common Learning Center at the Pickle Research Center nine miles from UT’s main campus was reported to UTPD on Wednesday afternoon, according to a tweet by UTPD.

UTPD officers have retrieved the pistol from the Pickle Research Center. UTPD is currently investigating this incident, UTPD spokeswoman Cindy Posey said.

The UT Police Department received a report of a holstered pistol left unattended in a women’s bathroom in the McCombs building, according to a tweet by UTPD.

"License holders who carry a handgun on campus must carry it concealed and on or about their person at all times or secure their handgun in a locked, privately-owned, or leased motor vehicle,” the rules state.
There is no further information available and the incident is currently being investigated by UTPD, spokeswoman Cindy Posey said.
