State prosecutors named Dr. Maureen Burrows as the psychiatrist who will assess the mental state of Kendrex White this morning during a court hearing.
The family of Harrison Brown appeared in court today. However, his mother Lori Brown was not present, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

White was charged with fatally stabbing Brown and wounding two other students last May at UT.
Burrows will be the second psychiatrist to assess White’s mental state and determine if White was insane at the time of the attack. After Burrows assesses White, prosecutors will then decide whether to present the case to the jury, the Statesman reported.
The attorneys for White intend to present evidence for a defense of not guilty by reason of insanity for the trial, court filings showed according to the Statesman.
