Rellah Boothe will transfer to Northwest Florida State College

Freshman forward Rellah Boothe will not be returning to Texas for her sophomore season. Instead, she has chosen to transfer to Northwest Florida State College.

Boothe released a statement on her personal Twitter account Sunday addressing why she decided to leave Texas.

The 6-foot-3-inch forward said that she had been dealing with “personal issues” back home. In addition, Boothe voiced her displeasure about not getting enough playing time and stated that these issues factored into her decision to leave the 40 Acres.

The talented freshman, who was the No. 3 recruit in the country coming out of high school, averaged 5.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in just 19 games this season.

Boothe concluded her statement by asking for support and prayer while affirming her goal to one day make it to the WNBA.

“Like my teammate Destiny Littleton said, ‘Everyone’s path is different,’” Boothe said. “So DON’T think for a second that I will not make it to the WNBA because I have a plan.”
