A UT student reported a non-stranger sexual assault that occurred at 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a campus-wide safety alert email.
UTPD is actively investigating the incident, according to the email, and encouraged students to never feel obligated to do anything they don’t want to.
“The most common type of sexual assault is perpetrated by someone the victim knows, not by a stranger,” the email said. “Consent is enthusiastic agreement required by all and can be revoked at any time. Sexual activity requires consciousness and clarity.”
