Paired with Olympian Katrina Young, Murphy Bromberg has earned a spot to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The tandem of Young and Murphy were able to clinch the spot for Team USA by finishing third in the 10m synchro on Sunday. However, it was a long way to the podium. The duo sat in the sixth spot after the first round. They were able to climb back into contention after strong third and fourth rounds.
Bromberg has represented Team USA at the FINA World Championships, but this would be her first time as an Olympian.
Her finish made her the highest-finishing Longhorn since 2005, and the duo has earned the first USA medal in the event since 2009.
Tomorrow, Bromberg will be on the side seeing if fellow Longhorn Alison Gibson can punch her ticket to Tokyo as well.
