Austin City Limits Music Festival announced Wednesday that it will not be taking place in fall 2020 due to health and safety concerns from the coronavirus outbreak.

The statement, released on Twitter, said due to the uncertain situation, canceling is the only responsible solution to ensure the safety of the Austin community.

As of Wednesday, there have been over 166,000 confirmed cases in Texas, over 9,000 of which are in Travis county, according to The New York Times. The state also reached a new high of 7,947 new cases on Tuesday.

ACL will return in October 2021, and refunds will be made available to fans who purchased tickets for this year. Fans who purchased tickets will have the option to hold those tickets for 2021, according to the statement.

The statement encouraged fans to support the Austin Parks Foundation and follow health and safety guidelines during this time.
