I came into UT hoping to become an engineer, and through a long complicated series of events, eventually found myself in the school of communications. But before I was even accepted into Moody there was The Daily Texan. I’ve been with the Texan for two and a half years, ever since my first semester at UT. I’ve never known this campus while also not working as a DT photo staffer, so to finally be departing from this great organization is a bitter farewell. The Texan helped me find what I wanted to do with my life, and for that I will be forever grateful, even if it’s not in a newsroom. It helped me discover that I’m a creative, and in many ways revealed my dreams. The Daily Texan has given me my greatest opportunities as a photographer, all while working alongside some of the most talented photo h*es I’ve ever met. So a big thanks to the Texan and everyone who makes this organization possible for giving me the courage and platform to pursue what I love.
