Students can register for classes with financial bars up to $1,000

Students with financial bars up to $1,000 will still be able to register for classes beginning this upcoming registration period, Texas One Stop announced in an email to students on Feb. 16. The University will also begin to refer to “bars,” or measures not allowing students to register or request documents, as “holds.”

Any debt owed to the University totaled under the new threshold will not be eligible for a financial hold and does not need to be resolved prior to registration. However, any amount owed to the University must be paid before requesting a transcript or diploma, according to the email.

“The University is dedicated to making students’ experiences the best they can be,” a Texas One Stop representative said in an email. “Including through efforts to streamline and refine University processes and applications.”
