Former Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has been recruited by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the NFL Draft after spending five years with the Longhorns.

Originally coming in as a safety, Overshown quickly proved himself to be a multi-dimensional player, becoming a Butkus Award semifinalist for the past two years. He used his final year of eligibility to compete as a fifth-year senior this past season, racking up 165 tackles, with 89 solo, to finish out his collegiate career.

Standing at 6 feet, 4 inches and weighing in at 220 pounds, Overshown recently received his first All-Big 12 selection by the league’s coaches and the Associated Press in 2022. He joined his fellow teammate Jaylan Ford on the defensive side of the first team, alongside Bijan Robinson and Ja’Tavion Sanders on the offensive side.

Overshown announced on Dec. 18 that he would be opting out of the Alamo Bowl and declaring for the NFL Draft.

“Agent O” will join fellow Texas alumnus Malik Jefferson in Dallas for the 2023 season.
