Live music, dancing, fun and, unfortunately, traffic all come to mind when thinking about Austin City Limits. In order to help combat the standstill car lines, The Daily Texan compiled a list of alternative transportation options to bring ACL goers to the festival from campus hassle-free.
CapMetro
The most direct route to ACL on the CapMetro buses comes in the form of the 803 southbound line from UT West Mall Station. The 3 line also takes the same route, just with more stops. Getting off at the Barton Springs Station allows for immediate access to all the festivities. Bus routes run from 7 a.m. to midnight, so students should make sure to plan accordingly.
ACL Festival Shuttle
ACL supplies its own shuttle for easy entrance to the festival. The shuttle picks up passengers from Republic Square Park at the corner of Fourth Street and San Antonio Street — a quick bus ride on the 1, 3, 801 or 803 lines from UT’s Southbound West Mall Station. The shuttle drops off at the Barton Springs West Festival Entrance and offers a return service to Republic Park at night. The shuttles run starting at noon on Fridays and 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Bicycle/Scooter
Biking and scootering provide convenient ways to get to ACL, as the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail gives these methods easy access to the festival. A quick ride down Guadalupe Street will intersect with the trail right across Lady Bird Lake. Parking on Stratford Drive across the Mopac Pedestrian Bridge grants the fastest access to the festival. Additional parking options include Toomey Road at Sterzing Street as well as on Azie Morton Road.
Car
Neither Zilker Park nor its surrounding neighborhoods provide parking options. However, through the company Pavemint, a parking spot can be reserved from businesses or homeowners nearby ahead of time. A limited number of parking garages, including the Palmer Events Center garage and the One Texas Center garage, also provide spots.
