Four weeks into the season the SEC is dominating college football. Nine teams in the AP Top 25 are in the SEC, with four in the top five. As in-conference rivalries begin heating up with the start of conference play, let’s take a look at the current stat leaders in the SEC.
Ole Miss leads the way in the team standings with the most productive offense in the country. The Rebels are the most productive offense in the country, leading all of college football in yards per game, total yards, passing yards and points per game.
Defensively, the Tennessee Volunteers lead the SEC with just 176 total yards allowed per game. Georgia leads in most other categories including total yards, passing yards, passing yards per game and total points allowed.
Senior quarterback Jaxson Dart has led Ole Miss to having the most productive offense in college football, so it’s only right that he is the individual leader in numerous categories. Dart leads all quarterbacks in passing yards with 1,554 and sits second in touchdown passes with 12.
LSU’s redshirt junior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier leads in passing touchdowns with 13 thrown. Nussmeier also leads the conference in attempts with 160 and completions with 113.
Arkansas’s redshirt senior running back Ja’Quinden Jackson leads the SEC in rush yards with 472. Jackson is second in rushing touchdowns with eight, behind Tennessee junior running back Dylan Sampson who has 10. Jackson also holds an average of 6.8 rushing yards, the second highest among running backs in the SEC with a minimum of 50 attempts.
Leading the SEC in receiving yards and receptions is Ole Miss senior wide receiver Tre Harris. Harris currently has more than a 10-reception lead over the next closest wide receiver with 38 catches for 628 receiving yards.
Leading wide receivers in touchdowns is senior KeAndre Lambert-Smith of Auburn with five. Smith recently recorded 156 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers’ loss to Arkansas last Saturday.
Arkansas sophomore defensive back TJ Metcalf is a defensive leader in the SEC. He’s tied for conference leader in interceptions with sophomore Marcus Ratcliffe of Texas A&M, as each has three.
South Carolina’s fifth-year edge Kyle Kennard has tallied the most sacks this season with 5.5. Sophomore safety Isaac Smith of Mississippi State leads in total tackles with 51, 15 more tackles than the next-closest player on the list.
