Siyona Nayampally – attending ACL since age 3
Most excited for: Tyler, the Creator
“Always bring a water bottle,” said Nayampally, a Plan II and economics sophomore. “It has to be empty, and preferably a light plastic one, because you can refill it at the hydration stations. I like to bring a bandana or a kerchief. When I get really hot, I wet it with the cold water from the hydration station and tie it around my neck to cool me off a little bit. … In terms of shoes, always comfort over style. You are gonna be walking so much and spending the whole day on your feet. Make sure you’re wearing something that is actually comfortable.”
Alex Nicola – one year of ACL experience
Most excited for: Leon Bridges
“(Bring) a battery pack for sure, my phone died at least three times and I had to go to the charging (stations),” said Nicola, a public health freshman. “Get someone’s car keys who has a Honda. Bring them, and then you can just get into (the Honda lounge). They have free restrooms, free food, free drinks, if you just own a Honda.”
Cameron Coburn – one year of ACL experience
Most excited for: Chappell Roan
“Find two artists you want to barricade for, and then the rest (of the day) you chill,” journalism fifth-year Coburn said. “Then you’re (only) try-harding two times. You (can) just sit there the entire time with your friends, and then you can go get something to eat. … That makes the experience fun, because you only work really hard for a few things, and then you just show up for the rest of it. It’s a mix.”
Bailey Evertson – one year of ACL experience
Most excited for: Remi Wolf
“Bring a bandana or something to cover your mouth when you are using the public transportation to get to and from the festival,” advertising junior Evertson said. “When I was leaving the festival, all three nights everyone was kicking up dust. It got super bad, and it made it hard to breathe sometimes.”
