It was a hectic week in the NFL: the Bengals lost again, the Chiefs are no longer perfect and the Cowboys’ stadium is falling apart. As the league enters week 12, here is a status update on Longhorns in the NFL.
Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
Worthy is coming off of one of his best performances of his rookie year, recording four receptions on five targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. The four receptions match Worthy’s career high, while also recording his third-highest receiving yards in a game. The Chiefs continue to try to utilize Worthy’s lightning speed, testing out the deep ball with Worthy as the intended target. As the season carries on and Patrick Mahomes becomes more comfortable with his speedy receiver, this duo could resemble the Mahomes-Tyreek Hill era in Kansas City.
Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Perhaps the best kicker in NFL history, Justin Tucker is struggling this year with his accuracy. Before this season, Tucker had never recorded a field goal percentage lower than 82%. Currently, Tucker holds a field goal percentage of 72% and needs to find a way to turn around his performance thus far.
Poona Ford, Los Angeles Chargers
Poona Ford is coming off of one of his best all around performances of the season against the Bengals. It was against Cincinnati that Ford recorded his 11th solo tackle of the year and his third sack. Now in his seventh season in the NFL and a member of a revamped Los Angeles Chargers team, Ford could continue to have a good season. The Chargers will face the Ravens this upcoming Monday for Monday Night Football.
Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons may be struggling, but Bijan Robinson is performing adequately in his sophomore season in Atlanta. Last season Robinson finished with 976 rushing yards, 487 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns. So far this season, Robinson holds 783 rush yards, 359 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns with six games left to play. On pace to eclipse his numbers from last year, Robinson is looking to improve year by year in the NFL.
Cameron Dicker, Los Angeles Chargers
Dicker the Kicker is kicking his way into the discussion as one of the best in the NFL. Dicker’s current field goal percentage stands at 91.3% with a long of 59 yards this season. From long-range, Dicker has been consistent, going 6–7 for field goal attempts of 40-49 yards and is 5–6 for field goals from 50-plus yards out. The Chargers will soon face Baltimore where Dicker will meet fellow Texas alumnus Tucker in a battle with one of the best of all-time.
