From week 12 to week 13, not much has changed on the Southeastern Conference statistics leaderboard. Here’s who’s leading the league on offense and defense.
Passing yards: Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Rebels senior quarterback Jaxson Dart has completed 211 passes on 298 attempts for 3409 yards in his senior season with Ole Miss.
With an average of 11.4 yards per attempt and 340.9 passing yards per game, Dart has registered 22 passing touchdowns in 10 games.
Dart was named to the Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List.
Rushing yards: Dylan Sampson, Tennessee running back
Tennessee junior Dylan Sampson leads the conference in both rushing yards and scoring. In 10 games played, Sampson has run the ball 220 times for 1,230 yards and 21 rushing touchdowns.
Sampson has tallied 126 points for the Volunteers this season, almost 20 points ahead of SEC runner-up Caden Davis of Ole Miss.
The running back was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after his performance against Alabama and is tied for second nationally in rushing touchdowns.
Receiving yards: Tre Harris, Ole Miss
Dart’s teammate Tre Harris leads the conference in receiving yards despite not having played the most games.
Harris missed three games for the Rebels, yet sits atop the rankings with 59 receptions for 987 yards and an average of 141 yards per game. He leads the SEC in the all-purpose offense rankings, while Dart leads in total offense.
He was named to the preseason All-SEC first-team.
Tackles: Isaac Smith, Mississippi State
Moving to defensive statistics, Mississippi State safety Isaac Smith leads the way with 101 tackles, 42 solo and 59 assisted, and one forced fumble. In nine games played, Smith is the only SEC player to record over 100 tackles.
Smith only had 15 tackles his freshman season, but has registered five double-digit tackle games this season and led the Bulldogs in tackles in five games.
Sacks: Princely Umanmielen, Ole Miss
The third Mississippi player on this list, Princely Umanmielen, has nine solo and one assisted sack for a total of 65 yards. Umanmielen took over the top spot on the list previously held by his teammate Suntarine Perkins.
Umanmielen made the preseason All-SEC third-team after four seasons with Florida.
Interception: Jahdae Barron (Texas), Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina) and Jalon Kilgore (South Carolina)
Texas’ own defensive back Jahdae Barron tops the conference in interceptions with four alongside South Carolina defensive back duo Nick Emmanwori and Jalon Kilgore.
Emmanwori, in addition to the four interceptions, has recorded two pick-sixes and gained 107 yards after those interceptions, compared to Barron’s 65 and Kilgore’s 54, neither with touchdowns.
