Career fair season places applications at the top of every student’s mind, and across majors, Longhorns highlight skills that match their industries. Whether on campus or online, students can access various tools that guide them through the recruiting process. The Daily Texan selected six resources that help Longhorns prepare for the application process.
12twenty@Texas
In summer 2025, UT launched 12twenty@Texas, a campus-wide career platform. Students can schedule coaching appointments, register for workshops and career fairs, upload resumes, track internship experiences and build a target employer list. The platform also provides real-time career insights, such as job postings, employment trends and salary data.
Vmock
Vmock uses artificial intelligence to evaluate resumes the same way many applicant tracking systems do: by focusing on keywords, structure and formatting. The platform scores each document, highlights areas for improvement and provides feedback. By using the same filters employers rely on, Vmock helps individuals strengthen their resumes before submitting online applications.
Big Interview
Big Interview utilizes artificial intelligence to train users through mock interviews, suggesting responses and giving instant and detailed feedback. The platform tailors their guides to users’ specific needs so that every individual can present their personal brand in a variety of industries. By placing users in real life scenarios, the platform gives students the opportunity to develop their response skills and prepare for any questions that may arise in a behavioral or technical interview.
HookedIn
HookedIn, recognized as UT’s version of LinkedIn, bridges the current and graduated Longhorn community. The platform offers resources such as how-to guides, mentoring, events and job searches. Through HookedIn, users can connect with students, professors and the rich Longhorn alumni network to gain industry insights and excel in their career.
LinkedIn Learning
Through UT’s partnership with LinkedIn Learning, Longhorns gain free access to online courses that support both academic and career goals. Certificates gained can be directly added to students’ LinkedIn profiles, showcasing credibility and experience. Through flexible learning and career-focused training, the service helps students strengthen applications and resumes to stand out in the job market.
UT Career Center Directory
Beyond central platforms, students can explore the Career Center Directory to find application support offered within their own colleges. With over a dozen colleges across campus, each school maintains a career center that tailors resources to the skills and industries most relevant to its students.
