Fired pellet shots lead police to underage drinking discovery

Police responded to a call early Thursday morning around 12:15 a.m. after receiving a report that a man was shooting a pellet gun from an apartment balcony in The Block on Campus apartment complex, located at West 25th Street and Pearl Street, police said.

Police said they arrived at the apartment and found a party with roughly 60 people, some of whom were drinking underage. Police broke up the party, and the four residents of the apartment were charged with delivering alcohol to a minor. The charges were later dropped, and police said the four residents of the apartment were expected to be released from the Travis County Jail Thursday night.

No injuries resulted from the pellet gun shootings, and no charges related to the shootings were filed, police said.

Gina Cowart, spokesperson for The Block on Campus apartment complex, said the complex’s administration is conducting an investigation into the reported incidents of the party and are making that investigation a top priority.
