Texas linebacker Jordan Hicks is out for the season with a torn Achilles, according to a report from Inside Texas.
The linebacker was carted off the field during the second half of Saturday’s game after what appeared to be an ankle injury. The team hasn’t released an update on the status of the junior.
Hicks, who missed all but three games of last season after he suffered a hip injury against Ole Miss, is a big part of the Longhorn defense. The weak side linebacker is the leader of the group, and the team’s best sideline-to-sideline defender on the second level.
