Update (3:26 p.m.):  Canvas as well as other Amazon Web Services applications are back online after the root of the outage was identified.

According to the Canvas website, they are still waiting for full resolution from Amazon Web Services and will continue to provide updates. As of 2:15 PM, users should be able to access Canvas services but some areas may be still affected by the outage.

Original post: Canvas went down at noon today and there is currently no timetable for its return, said Olga Finneran, communication coordinator for internal communications.

Amazon Web Services, the cloud services division of Amazon, is experiencing a large-scale networking issue which is affecting Canvas and a number of other companies relying on it.

“We are working with Amazon to diagnose the problem and waiting for updates on their mitigation timeline,” the UT ServiceNow website announced.

This post will updated with more information.
