Heisman Watch – Week 11
November 10, 2022
Bo Nix
Oregon quarterback Bo Nix now leads the NCAA in completion percentage with 73.3% after completing 20 out of 24 passes against Colorado. His success doesn’t stop at his passing rate. The Auburn transfer scored five touchdowns against Colorado, marking his third consecutive week of assisting in five or more touchdowns. Nix has multiple remaining opportunities to showcase his skill set, including against the team’s next two ranked opponents, No. 24 Washington and No. 13 Utah.
Caleb Williams
Coming off a tough battle against California, Williams claimed his fourth game of the season where he threw at least four touchdowns, going for 360 yards against the Golden Bears. While the sophomore had his fair share of struggles over the past five games, his consistency and ability to deliver results in a timely fashion led the Trojans to a 5-0 conference record.
Max Duggan
As the ringleader of an undefeated squad, Duggan is the heart of TCU’s success. The senior quarterback originally entered the 2022 season as a backup quarterback after losing the starting position to Chandler Morris. After Morris got injured during TCU’s opener against Colorado, Duggan quickly got thrust into the spotlight. Duggan has thrown for 2,212 yards across eight games, topping the 300-yard mark for four of them. Duggan gives the Horned Frogs the potential of securing a College Football Playoff spot, as well as a Big 12 Championship title.
Chase Brown
Currently leading the nation in total rushing yards with 1,208, Illinois running back Chase Brown is a force to be reckoned with. The junior running back has collected ten 100-yard rushing games, the most in the country. He’s also averaging 28 carries per game, which is the most in the country for all Division I running backs. In Illinois’ upset loss to Michigan State, Brown earned 136 yards on 33 carries, moving into third place for the program’s all-time rushers list with 2,907 career yards on the ground.
