No. 4-seed Texas will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at the Moody Center. Texas will play No. 13-seed East Carolina in the first round and the winner of No. 5-seed Louisville and No. 12-seed Drake, if it gets past the Pirates.

Texas played in the Big 12 tournament championship game against Iowa State, but it fell short 61-51. Vic Schaefer’s team was ranked No. 15 in the latest AP Poll, and shared the Big 12 regular season title with Oklahoma.

East Carolina qualified for the NCAA Tournament by winning the American Athletic Conference tournament, defeating Houston 46-44.

Texas will make its eighth consecutive tournament appearance. Last year, Texas picked up three wins in the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 seed Stanford, 59-50, in the Elite Eight round.
