It was a successful week for the Texas diving team, which earned a clean sweep of the one-meter, three-meter and platform events at the Texas Diving Invitational against TCU in a home match-up spanning over Nov. 1-3.

To kick off his young career, freshman Tanner Braunton earned an impressive win, claiming the platform title for his first collegiate win. Braunton was the competition’s only competitor to surpass a score of 400 points on the platform with a total of 406.20 points. Texas seniors Noah Duperre and Pierce Brooke took the second- and third-place titles, with respective scores of 389.33 and 326.70 points.

Sophomore Nick Harris made a name for himself with his clean sweep of titles in the one-meter and three-meter competitions. He started the competition with a score of 397.13 points on the one-meter, cementing his status in first place and earning a new season high. Duperre earned his second-best season score on the one-meter as well, coming in at a close second, with Braunton coming in third and senior Brendan McCourt and junior Manuel Borowski rounding out fourth and fifth.

The three-meter competition proved to be just as successful, with Harris earning another season-best with a score of 445.50 points. His fifth dive was recorded at over 90 points, pushing him into another first-place title. Duperre came into another close second with 427.30 points, and Borowski placed third as the final Longhorn to score over 400 points on the three-meter dive with a total of 409.35. Freshman Tanner Thornton finished fourth and McCourt placed fifth, rounding the Longhorns out for another top-five sweep.

Overall, the Longhorns dominated TCU. Following the recent loss to the University of Virginia, the Texas Diving Invitational proved extremely important after the men lost to UVA by ten points. This newest win over TCU provides fuel to regain their momentum.
