As UT prepares for its Southeastern Conference debut, a new conference calls for a new wardrobe. However, with boutiques scattered across Austin, students may find the search for game day outfits overwhelming. To ease the shopping stress, The Daily Texan compiled a list of boutiques near campus to find the perfect apparel.
Longhorn Fashions- 709 W. 22nd St. (5 minute drive)
Founded by UT alumna Tessie Watson, Longhorn Fashions provides a wide variety of dresses, tops and bottoms in the signature burnt orange color. According to the Longhorn Fashions website, Watson opened this boutique after attending the University and realizing the lack of unique burnt orange clothing in the fashion industry. The store also contains a custom hat bar where customers can design hats and choose from an assortment of embellishments.
Sue Patrick- 5222 Burnet Rd. (10 minute drive)
From Longhorn apparel to collectibles, this boutique ten minutes from campus carries it all. Students can also find a new collection of SEC gear including hats, polos and mugs for sale at a reasonable price. Shop Sue Patrick when searching for a last-minute game day outfit that won’t disappoint.
Lux Rox Boutique- 7415 Southwest Pkwy. (20 minute drive)
This luxury boutique in Southwest Austin receives daily shipments of game-day outfits and accessories. From boots to bedazzled clutches, this store caters to numerous styles. Students may find outfit inspiration on the Lux Rox Boutique Instagram page where they post various Longhorn lookbooks. Though the 20-minute drive proves the lengthiest on this list, Lux Rox remains perfect for subtle logo-free looks.
Grove Hill ATX- 3663 Bee Caves Rd. (16 minute drive)
Shop the 2024 “GameDay” collection from sweater vests to denim dresses at this Bee Cave boutique. Grove Hill ATX also invites customers to join the football fun at its gameday kickoff on Aug. 28 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eventgoers may customize a cowgirl hat with Custom Crown Hats and pick up tailgate-ready cookies from Wesley’s Kitchen. Stop by this store for unique pieces that pair perfectly with Texas pride.
Kendra Scott- 3800 N Lamar Blvd. (6 minute drive)
This renowned jewelry shop’s gameday collection contains necklaces, earrings and bracelets in various colors, including burnt orange.
