As leaves change color and pumpkin spice takes over social media, fall fanatics flock to community events for autumnal vibes and cozy aesthetics. The Daily Texan compiled a list of five local fall events that students can go to for festive fun.
Pumpkin Nights, Pioneer Farms Drive
Pumpkin Nights is not your average pumpkin patch, featuring “over 7,500 hand-carved and custom-designed pumpkins” along a half-mile trail that immerses attendees in grand, whimsical scenes, according to their website. Beyond pumpkin artistry, Pumpkin Nights offers a festival, fire show, food and games to get into the spooky spirit. Pumpkin Nights is located at Pioneer Farms, a quick 20-minute drive from campus. Tickets are available for $22-$36 now through Oct. 31 on their website.
House of Torment Haunted Houses, 2632 Ridgepoint Dr
Named by the Travel Channel as “the scariest haunted house in America,” the House of Torment Haunted House in Austin provides exhilarating jump scares, attractions, escape rooms and immersive simulations. The House of Torment is open select nights now through Nov. 9, and general admission tickets start at $19.99 on their website.
Texas Pumpkin Fest, 8760 FM 2243, Leander, TX
For those looking for a cozy fall experience, Texas Pumpkin Fest provides the perfect package. With a sprawling pumpkin patch, live music, train rides and photo opportunities, Texas Pumpkin Fest offers a festive fall experience for all ages. The festival will be open from Oct. 3 to Nov. 1. Tickets are available on their website for $15 or at the gate.
Boo at the Zoo, 10808 Rawhide Trail
Boo at the Zoo offers evening admission to the Austin Zoo for Halloween-themed games and activities. Admission includes unlimited visits to the haunted house and a reserved ride on the “Spooky Train.” Tickets are on sale for $24 on the Austin Zoo website.
Texas Book Festival, 1100 Congress Ave
For those who enjoy curling up with a good book next to a fire, Texas Book Festival offers book signings and author panels, food trucks and vendors. The lineup includes over 300 authors of best-sellers and new books from this year. The Texas Book Festival will take place Nov. 8-9 at select locations around downtown Austin and is free and open to all, with the exception of a few ticketed sessions.
