The Texas Tribune Festival was held downtown Austin Nov. 13-15. Politicians, journalists and authors from around Texas and the nation flooded the Texas capitol for one-on-one conversations and group panels addressing some of the biggest issues of the day, including higher education, democracy and the 2026 midterm elections.

Justin Doud is The Daily Texan’s managing editor for summer 2026. He was formerly the Texan’s photo editor and a member of the paper’s investigative team, Projects. He’s spent time in Photo, Projects, Copy and Opinion while at UT, and he’s been at the Texan since his first semester on campus.
