Throughout 2025, Daily Texan photojournalists collectively took hundreds of thousands of photos. They documented Austin and campus protests, a broad swath of UT sports and more concerts than they could count. From the halls of the Texas Capitol to the heart of Zilker Park, their lenses captured moments big and small, bringing you into the moments that defined this year for Longhorns. Here are some of our favorites.

Justin Doud, Managing Editor

Justin Doud is The Daily Texan’s managing editor for summer 2026. He was formerly the Texan’s photo editor and a member of the paper’s investigative team, Projects. He’s spent time in Photo, Projects, Copy and Opinion while at UT, and he’s been at the Texan since his first semester on campus. Outside of the Texan, he’s had bylines in NPR, the Texas Observer, Houston Public Media, the Texas Standard and more, and was formerly the News Director at UT’s broadcast outlet, TSTV News. Naina Srivastava, Photo Editor

Naina is a junior journalism and American studies dual major from Mountain View, California. She is currently the Photo Editor at the Texan. Previously, she was an associate photo editor, senior photographer, senior news reporter and projects reporter.

Dominic Plata, Senior Photographer

Dominic is a journalism sophomore from Mansfield, Texas. He currently serves as a senior photographer, issue designer and newsletter writer, and previously served as a copy editor. When not working in his departments, he likes to play ping pong in the basement.
