Only days after its Final Four loss, Texas women’s basketball is already facing major roster turnover beyond its graduating class of five.
Freshman guard Aaliyah Crump, sophomore forward Justice Carlton and sophomore guard Jordan Lee each entered their names into the transfer portal since its opening on April 6, as first reported by On3’s Talia Goodman.
Forward Aaliyah Moore, who missed the 2025-26 season with a knee injury, is also planning to transfer and finish her collegiate career elsewhere as a graduate player.
All four are former McDonald’s All-Americans recruited by head coach Vic Schaefer’s staff.
ESPN’s No. 5-ranked prospect in the class of 2025, Crump was the first of the Longhorns who intended to transfer, though her entrance into the portal did not become official until Wednesday. Crump averaged 7.9 points in 17.5 minutes per game across 24 games for Texas.
After starting the first five games of the season, Crump missed much of the season due to a foot injury, but elected not to redshirt. Her minutes fluctuated late in the year, though she played a season-high 29 minutes against UCLA last Friday.
Carlton, starting 28 games this season, averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game. The sophomore scored in double figures 14 times this season, boosting the Longhorns’ offensive physicality in the frontcourt.
Lee’s exit comes after she achieved a significant second-season leap, improving to 13.2 points per game from the 5.8 points she averaged as a freshman. This year, Lee started in all but one game and averaged 31.7 minutes per game, which ranked second on the team. She contributed 49.3% of Texas’ three-point baskets in the 2025-26 season.
Between the current expected departures in the transfer portal and those who have exhausted their eligibility, Texas is set to lose 63.1% of its scoring, 55.9% of its rebounding, 67.6% of its assists and 67.8% of its minutes from this past season, per Danny Davis of the Austin American-Statesman.
As of now, ineligible to enter the 2026 WNBA Draft, the three-time Cheryl Miller Award winner, junior forward Madison Booker, is set to return to Schaefer’s program for her final collegiate season.
Texas has five incoming high school commits arriving on the Forty Acres next season, a class that sits at No. 1 in 247Sports’ composite team rankings. But with all the departing production, Schaefer will likely also look into the portal to replenish a roster that centers around Booker and maintains its national championship aspirations.
