Obama's win over Republican candidate Mitt Romney comes after decisive electoral victories in key battleground states, such as Ohio and Virginia. As of press time, not all states have finished reporting, but mathematically, Romney will not be able recoup the necessary electoral votes. The popular vote remains close.
