  • What: Slash & Spread with Fragile Rock and Daniel Webb
  • Where: Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River St.
  • Time: 9 p.m.

Enjoy the electronic beats from Austin-based musician Daniel Webb at 10 p.m. followed by a set from the five-piece emo puppet group Fragile Rock at 11 p.m. The final act will be Austin’s all-women punk band Slash & Spread.

Tuesday, Sept. 1


  • What: BYOV.inyl
  • Where: The Mohawk, 912 Red River St.
  • Time: 5 p.m.

On most Tuesday nights, The Mohawk hosts an event called BYOV.inyl, an evening where attendees are called to BYOV (bring your own vinyl) rather than BYOB (bring your own beer). Enjoy the bar’s happy hour while jamming out to the vinyls everybody brought from home.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

  • What: Jimmy Eat Wednesday
  • Where: Barbarella, 611 Red River St.
  • Time: 9 p.m.

Join the crows at Barbarella and jam out to the angsty emo-punk classics of the mid ’90s through the late 2000s at Jimmy Eat Wednesday. This week, a collection of Austin-based bands will play for free next door at the Swan Dive, including indie pop group Shadow Of Whales, punk-pop band Sleepwalker and alt-rock group Nominee. Make sure to get there before midnight to avoid a $10 cover fee.

Thursday, Sept. 3

  • What: End of Summer Splash Party
  • Where: Salvage Vanguard Theater, 2803 E. Manor Road
  • Time: 6 p.m.

The Salvage Vanguard Theater is hosting a party with kiddie pools, dunk tanks and a cornhole tournament in honor of its 21st birthday. The party will take place in the theater’s parking lot and will include free food and drinks.

Friday, Sept. 4

  • What: No Shame
  • Where: Salvage Vanguard Theater, 2803 E. Manor Road
  • Time: 10 p.m.

No Shame Theater is a collection of 15 five-minute-or-less original acts including storytelling, theater, dance, comedy, music or any combination. The show starts at 10 p.m., but if you want to be one of the 15 performers, arrive at 9:30 p.m. to get your name on the list.

Saturday, Sept. 5

  • What: Pluckers 20th Anniversary Party featuring Passion Pit and Bleachers
  • Where: ACL Live at the Moody Theater, 310 W Willie Nelson Blvd.
  • Time: 5 p.m.–2 a.m.

To celebrate 20 years, Pluckers is throwing a free watch party for the UT vs. Notre Dame game followed by performances from indie pop bands Bleachers at 10:45 p.m. and Passion Pit at 12:30 a.m. Pluckers will give away tickets to the party every day this week leading up to the big event. Sunday, Sept. 6

  • What: Bill Murray Summer Series: Ghostbusters 2
  • Where: Easy Tiger, 709 E Sixth St.
  • Time: 9 p.m.

Celebrate the finale of Easy Tiger’s Bill Murray Summer Series this Sunday with an outdoor screening of the 1989 classic “Ghostbusters 2.” Food and drink specials will be available.
