This story was removed because the previous content was misleading and inaccurate. The following paragraph describes what was originally stated in the article and is followed by each respective correction.
Previously, our article stated that University-funded study abroad trips geared towards primarily Black and Latinx students will end this year due to revised limitations caused by Senate Bill 17. To clarify, Global Leadership and Social Impact trips will continue past this year, and are funded through the Division for Campus and Community Engagement (formerly known as the Division for Diversity and Community Engagement), endowment, grants and donations. These trips have historically had representation of Black and Latinx students higher than the national average, but they have been and will continue to be open to students of all races. Our article also previously stated that the Fearless Leadership Institute is an organization meant to support Black women at UT. To clarify, the Fearless Leadership Institute’s resources were always available to collegiate women of all races.
The Texan regrets these errors.
