Texas students can now guarantee their seat inside Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on football game days because of to a new ticket claiming option provided by Texas Athletics.
Going into effect this Saturday for the Longhorns’ matchup against the UTSA Roadrunners at home, students who have purchased the Big Ticket may now claim a reserved student ticket located in the stadium’s upper level. This opportunity will give students a specific seat number in sections 121-125. Tickets can be claimed while supplies last.
This will allow those who claim a reserved ticket to have a designated seat instead of relying on a first come, first serve basis, ultimately giving more flexibility in arrival time. Reserved student ticket holders will also be able to enter on the east side of the stadium separate from regular Big Ticket holders, who must enter at Gate 25.
Those who decide to claim an upper-bowl level reserved ticket will not be granted access into the lower-level general admission student section and will not be given entry through Gate 25. Students with a reserved seat will not be given a wristband, as the seat number is detailed on the ticket itself, and re-entry into the upper level from the concourse will be a come-and-go experience.
Details on how to claim a reserved student ticket are yet to be announced, but the times allotted for Big Ticket holders to claim their ticket will remain the same: Tuesdays at noon for Longhorn Foundation members and Wednesdays at noon for all Big Ticket holders.
The Texas Athletics Department said it reviewed fan feedback regarding the ticket claiming process and designed the new reserved ticket claiming system to give students a hassle-free way to enjoy Texas football.
