WVU vs. Texas: Mountaineers lead Longhorns 19-13 at halftime

After inconsistent offensive play and numerous turnovers, the Mountaineers lead Texas 19-13 at halftime.

The Longhorns started their first four drives with a safety, fumble, interception and a punt, yet another game in which they have started slow. Texas recorded 37 rushing yards in the half while senior quarterback Case McCoy completed nine of his 20 passes.

West Virginia tallied 133 yards of total offense to give their team the lead going into the break. The Mountaineer’s quarterback, Clint Trickett, missed most of the first half after suffering an injury, getting replaced by Paul Millard.

The Texas defense has produced a strong showing, recording five sacks and forcing two fumbles, while the offense has yet to impress its fans in Morgantown.

The Longhorns will get the ball to start the second half.
