Update (10:50 p.m.): After a Longhorn punt, the Red Raiders went 91 yards on 12 plays on their first second-half drive. Senior running back DeAndre Washington capped the drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown to extend Texas Tech’s lead to 24-10.

Texas Tech fumbled on its next drive to set up the Longhorns deep in Red Raiders territory. Warren capitalized two plays later with a 21-yard rushing touchdown.

The Red Raiders answered on the ensuing drive with a field goal to take a 27-17 lead.

Warren continued to dominate on Texas’ next drive. Warren rumbled for a 23-yard touchdown — his third of the game — to cut Texas Tech’s lead to 27-24.

Once again, the Red Raiders responded with a touchdown on a seven-play, 75-yard drive. The score came on a 16-yard scamper by senior running back DeAndre Washington.

The Longhorns quickly put together an eight-play, 77-yard drive. Junior quarterback Tyrone Swoopes capped the drive with a one-yard rushing touchdown to cut the lead to 34-31.

After a Texas Tech punt, the Longhorns scored their fourth straight touchdown on a 46-yard run by Swoopes. The touchdown marked Texas’ first lead since the first quarter.

The Red Raiders quickly regained the lead after a 40-yard pass from Mahomes set up a one-yard rushing touchdown for sophomore running back Justin Stockton. After holding the Longhorns, Texas Tech added insurance to their lead with a 40-yard rushing touchdown from Grant to take a 48-38 lead.

Texas scored again on an eight-yard rushing touchdown from Warren — his fourth of the game — to cut the deficit to 48-45 with just over two minutes left.

However, the Longhorns failed to recover their onside kick attempt, allowing Texas Tech to run the clock out for the 48-45 victory.

Update (8:26 p.m.): Texas Tech effortlessly went 45 yards on five plays to start the game. But, its momentum came to a halt when junior safety Dylan Haines picked off sophomore quarterback Patrick Mahomes deep in Longhorn territory.

Both teams failed to score and struggled to move the ball through the remainder of the first quarter. The Longhorns produced just 60 yards for the quarter, while Texas Tech accumulated 90 yards.

Texas picked up three points to start the second quarter after freshman running back Kirk Johnson put the team inside the red zone with a 32-yard run. Senior kicker Nick Rose drilled a 32-yard field goal and Texas took a 3-0 lead.

Texas Tech responded quickly with a two-play, 65-yard drive. Senior wide receiver Jakeem Grant caught a tipped ball and took it to the end zone for the 65-yard touchdown.

After two Texas punts, the Red Raiders went 29 yards on seven plays to set up a 51-yard field goal by redshirt freshman kicker Clayton Hatfield.

The Longhorns' offense responded two drives later when freshman running back Chris Warren broke off a 91-yard touchdown to tie the game at 10-10.

Texas Tech scored again on a one-yard run by sophomore quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the half's final minutes. The touchdown came after a Texas fumble.

Update (6:30 p.m.): Texas takes on Texas Tech on Thanksgiving for its senior night game. The team hopes to send off its 24 seniors with a win in their final appearance at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

The Longhorns are 3-2 at home, entering Thursday night's contest. They hope to contain the Red Raiders' high-powered offense, which ranks No. 2 in the nation in scoring.

The matchup also serves as an elimination game for Texas' bowl hopes. At 4-6, the Longhorns need to win their final two games to keep their postseason eligibility alive.
