Kellen Moore led the New Orleans Saints to the team’s first victory of the season, his first ever as head coach, over the New York Giants 26-14 on Sunday, Oct. 5. Prior to this win, the Saints began the season on a four-game losing streak.
Second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler connected with deep-threat wide receiver Rashid Shaheed on an 87-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter that helped jumpstart the Saints offense. The Saints defense did not fall flat either, contributing five turnovers, returning one of the fumble recoveries for a touchdown as well.
Former Texas Longhorns Kelvin Banks Jr. and Jaylan Ford represented the University during the victory. Banks and the rest of the Saints’ offensive line kept Rattler upright the whole game allowing zero sacks.
